Müller & Briner |
Since they offer isolated, island-like biotopes and a great variety of different habitats on a small scale, mountains are important for biodiversity and endemism. Students will learn that the species composition of a mountain range is not static, but has a long history and is continually changing. Species diversity and phylogeography will be discussed, with a special focus on the importance of mountains for species evolution. |
