The concept of the "X-Minute City" has gained significant attention in urban planning, emphasizing that residents should be able to access essential amenities within a X-minute walk or bike ride from their homes. Green spaces, crucial for mental and physical health, play a pivotal role in enhancing urban quality of life and sustainability.

However, not all urban residents benefit equally from these public assets. Growing evidence suggests that access to green spaces is often unequally distributed, correlating strongly with socio-economic status.
How does socio-economic inequality affect access to green spaces within a X-minute walk in Zurich?

To what extent does Zurich's current green space planning align with the UN SDG target of universal
access to safe and inclusive public spaces?


In order to answer these questions, we need to study the average income levels of residents in different communities of Zurich; and in conjunction with the distribution of green spaces in Zurich, calculate the accessibility of urban green spaces in different communities in X minutes. The relationship between the two is presented visually to help answer the final research question in the discussion section.
